The Jerusalem Conference

On October 11, Bright Stars of Bethlehem hosted the Jerusalem Conference in Houston, TX. Co-sponsored by Churches for Middle East Peace, National Council of Churches, and the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference, the conference brought together ecumenical scholars and faith leaders from across the world to address the topic, “Jerusalem: What makes for peace?”

“Jerusalem is key to peace. Yet, recent decisions on the part of U.S. administration, bolstered by the support of many who claim to be people of faith, have threatened historic commitments to Jerusalem as a city for two people of three faiths. “It is high time to defend this unique inclusive nature of the holy city. Now is the time to demand a just peace for Jerusalem.”
