Bringing the Story of Palestine to the World

Born and raised in Bethlehem, Palestine, Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb is the co-founder of Bright Stars of Bethlehem.

Rev. Raheb currently serves as President of Dar al-Kalima University of Arts and Culture, the region’s only higher education institution devoted to the arts. Previously, he served as Pastor of Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem as well as President of Diyar Consortium, a network of Lutheran institutions that he founded in 1995.

In February of 2012, he was awarded the prestigious German Media Prize award. He is an internationally-acclaimed author and speaker. Rev. Raheb has been featured on many major international media outlets and networks including CNN, ABC, BBC, ARD, ZDF, DW, BR, Premiere, Raiuno, Stern, The Economist, and Newsweek. He was a key subject of an April 2012 CBS News “60 Minutes” segment on Palestinian Christians.

Described as “the most widely published Palestinian theologian,” Rev. Raheb has authored 17 books. He is skilled in more than seven languages and participates in theological dialogue, peacebuilding, and dream-making throughout the world.

Rev. Raheb lives in Bethlehem with his wife, Najwa Khoury. They have two adult daughters, Dana and Tala.
