The Inspiring Journey of Amira
In the heart of Bethlehem, a new generation of leaders is emerging, and among them is Amira, a first-year sports management student at Dar al-Kalima University (DAK). During a recent visit to DAK, I had the pleasure of meeting Amira and witnessing her unwavering enthusiasm and ambition firsthand. After years of dedication, she took a bold step towards her future by enrolling in DAK, the only university in the Bethlehem region offering a sports management certificate. At DAK, Amira has discovered an environment that encourages creativity. She has embraced her artistic side by engaging in activities such as decorating food and crafting clay figurines. Amira aspires to become a coach and eventually manage her own gym, and she's well on her way. Her impressive achievement of earning a 4.0 GPA in her first semester illustrates her commitment to her education and future goals.

Recently, she faced the heartbreaking loss of her father, leaving her and her brother, an artist himself, to navigate this difficult path together. Despite this profound loss, their bond has strengthened, and they continue to support each other's dreams. Amira's brother created a stunning silver tree sculpture as a heartfelt gesture, which he gifted to a supporter from the Bright Stars of Bethlehem church. This piece not only symbolizes their resilience but also led to a full-ride scholarship that has alleviated some of the financial burdens on Amira, allowing her to focus on her studies without worry.
Amira embodies the spirit of perseverance and creativity that is so crucial for the future of Palestine.
